For second year, the Probitas Foundation opens its Annual Call for Grants for Development Cooperation Projects in the Health Sector

The Probitas Foundation, in addition to launching its own projects and in collaboration with other entities that share the same objectives and values, has decided to allocate part of its budget to grant aid projects aimed to improve access to health care for the benefit of the vulnerable populations of the planet.

The Probitas Foundation, when addressing a global problem such as health, aligns with the basic principles of primary health care of the World Health Organization, for which primary health care comprises at least the following activities: Education on the main health problems and on the corresponding prevention and control methods; Promotion of food supply and adequate nutrition, adequate supply of drinking water and basic sanitation; Maternal and child care, including family planning; Immunization against major infectious diseases; Prevention and control of local endemic diseases; Appropriate treatment of common diseases and injuries and the supply of essential drugs.

Unlike the previous year, this time the call will consist of a first phase of project selection based on a concept note application. After this initial evaluation, eligible projects will be selected for submitting to a second phase from which the granted projects will emerge.

Due to the large number of projects received in the previous edition, the budget of the Call for Proposals amounts to 1,500,000 euros, which means a budget increase of 50% compared to the amount of 2016. Last year, 29 projects were selected for a grant among the 115 submitted to the call.

The call for proposals will be opened on January 16, 2017 and the deadline is February 17. The regulations of the call and the applying documents needed for the proposals can be found on the  website of Probitas.
