Saber i Salut

This Education for Health program, developed in non-formal education spaces, aims to promote the acquisition of health competencies among children and adolescents, as well as families and the community, by incorporating a nurse as a key agent in health promotion.

“Saber i salut” offers a comprehensive view of health to help vulnerable children and young people build a healthier future and improve their well-being. It promotes healthy habits for the physical, emotional, and social development of young people within a safe and supportive environment.
A nurse is responsible for leading educational activities such as workshops, dynamics, and talks, always adapting them to each age group to make them more attractive and useful. Throughout the course, topics such as hygiene, emotional management, sexual education, first aid, and bullying prevention, among others, are addressed.

The program’s content has been developed in collaboration with Associació Catalana d’Infermeria i Salut Escolar (ACISE), which contributes its expertise in health to ensure the quality and relevance of the educational materials.

Efforts are also made to transform the spaces of the socio-educational entities where the program is carried out into healthier environments.
In the 2024/25 school year, a pilot test is being conducted in Terrassa with the support of the City Council and Fundació Educativa Terrassa.

Healthy

We run an integrated healthcare project that promotes healthy habits for children at risk of social exclusion at the Santiago Apòstol school in the Cabañal neighborhood of Valencia.

The program aims to improve the general state of health status of the students at the school by providing healthcare at the educational center through the school Nurse, who also provides Education for Health workshops for students, staff, and families at the school. At the same time, it offers the students a high-quality balanced meal and promotes physical activity and sport.

Great engagement from the teaching community is a crucial element for this initiative because it requires collaboration between students, parents, teachers, and non-teaching school staff.

The project is having a very positive impact on health and has reduced the rate of overweight children at the school by 10%.

This program directly benefits 277 people in the educational community.
