This November, a team from Probitas traveled to Paraguay to inaugurate the laboratories of the Teniente Irala Fernández Health Center and the Campo Aceval Family Health Unit. With these two new laboratories, the Probitas Laboratory Reinforcement Program will be present in 15 countries with 35 diagnostic laboratories in operation. As part of this program, which aims to strengthen the capacity of clinical diagnostic laboratories in the most remote and vulnerable regions of the world, we have promoted the improvement of infrastructure, the purchase of equipment, the training of laboratory staff, and health education in the communities served by these two health centers.

The Gasol Foundation has presented the second edition of the PASOS study, which has once again counted on Probitas Foundation as one of its main collaborators, in which it has been confirmed that the level of obesity and overweight in Spanish minors aged 8 to 16 years remains the same as in 2019. However, among this group, the deterioration in eating habits, the use of screens, the sleeping hours, the practice of physical activity and their emotional wellbeing and quality of life stand out.

Within the framework of complementary interventions, we carry out actions that improve the physical, mental, and social health of minors in vulnerable situations, generating specialized resources that complement the foundation's own projects. On this occasion, we have promoted a pilot test of five sexual and reproductive education workshops with the collaboration of three specialists from the Dexeus Mujer Foundation. The aim of the action is to reinforce the socio-educational accompaniment offered to minors in vulnerable situations who participate in the foundation's programs.

We work so that Spanish schoolchildren are no longer among the countries with the highest rates of overweight (3rd) and obesity (4th), according to a study carried out by the European Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative (COSI) that has covered 33 countries of the European Region of the World Health Organization (WHO).
